This original design was created to be displayed in an Irish themed Art Show of Janet Tanguay's in February 2012. My design was inspired by a block named "Celtic Sunrise" from www.quilterscache.com/mhohn. I used that block in the 4 corners. The design for the 2 Celtic Crosses came from our dictionary. For the center landscape, I adapted the foundation pieced block, "Winter in the Mountains", from the book "365 Foundation Quilt Blocks" by Linda Causee.. The prayer quote was printed using a pygma pen with #1 Archival ink. It says: "May the road rise to meet you... May the sun shine warm upon your face... May the rain fall soft upon your fields...and...May God hold you in the palm of His hand." Machine quilting adds detail to the center scene, outlining of green borders and Celtic Crosses and 4 Celtic Sunrise blocks. Diagonal quilting lines enhance the Celtic Crosses blocks. Photos of Quilt back show my label and the 2 rod pockets. Neither rod is included, they are for display only. The one on bottom is for holding a heavy metal rod to stretch quilt and keep it taute. Top one is for your decorative rod.
